An antique chandelier circa 1915. The finish has been sympathetically re gilt, so it looks stunning, a scarce cherub with lovely big wings and supporting two floral / cloud glass frosted light shades in perfect undamaged condition. The cherub is in spelter (an early 1800's lead tin etc alloy), hollow cast. The wiring has been renewed with modern flex and extra insulators fitted to certain points for double protection, again sympathetically for the cherub's antiquity, with an earth secured to the top ceiling rose, it's safe and in very good working condition, BUT the wiring would not pass modern BS electrical standards where nearly everything now has to be in plastic. The cherub is about 8 inches long, the wings about 6 inches long, as seen the overall drop / height of the whole assembly is 23 inches, but this could be shortened (by taking out a few links in the chain) by maximum of about 10 inches in height if you have a low ceiling. All as per the images. The item "ANTIQUE WINGED CHERUB 2 x SHADE CHANDELIER CEILING LIGHT PUTTI working lovely" is in sale since Sunday, April 15, 2018.
